On Sunday, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Cheyenne celebrated the completion of a new addition to the church. Newly ordained Bishop Steven joined the parish to bless the addition and help give thanks for the completion of the improvements made in the church. After many months of dealing with a torn up parking lot and a church draped in plastic sheeting, the work is complete.
The parking lot was doubled in size and regraded for better drainage; it can now accommodate parishioners at Masses without some needing to park on a dirt side hill. To better meet the needs of the Cheyenne community, the church also installed handicap accessible bathrooms, an elevator, and air conditioning.
Holy Trinity has successfully raised $2,030,000 toward a goal of $2,250,000, leaving only $220,000 to be raised. All of this has been made possible because of the generosity and dedication of the parishioners of Holy Trinity. The parish also received donations from a donor known as “Grateful in Wyoming,” the Catholic Extension Society, the Holy Trinity Men’s Association, the Holy Trinity Council of Catholic Women, the Knights of Columbus, several local businesses, and an anonymous donor, whose gift was given through the Diocese of Cheyenne.
All of these together enabled Holy Trinity to make the vision of a more accessible and welcoming parish a reality. Thank you to all who have supported this effort!
