As we continue to look out for the safety of one another in this time of pandemic, we still feel it is important and beneficial to provide faith formation. We look to begin classes the first week of September and run through May. At this time, the plan is to meet in person. We will be monitoring the pandemic situation within the county and are prepared to move classes to virtual learning with paper packet options for those who do not have internet access. All formation activities will require the use of facial coverings and social distancing according to diocesan guidelines.
Please register your family online at holytrinitycheyenne.org. If you do not have internet access, or need assistance, please contact the office. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Grade school
As we were not able to offer the traditional summer religious education program, we feel it is important to offer faith formation during the school year. We are really excited to offer a family catechesis program meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, from 6:30-7:30pm. There will be a leader present to facilitate the class, and parents will act as the catechists with an easy to follow lesson. The whole family is welcome and encouraged to come, though the lessons will be geared toward grades K-6. We are so looking forward to watching our families grow together in faith. Grade school/family faith formation will begin Wednesday, September 16th in Cabrini Hall.
Sacramental Preparation
First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation
Preparations for First Holy Communion are offered to children entering their 2nd grade year of school. This year we will be using a family centered program. A leader will be present to facilitate the class, however, parents will act as the catechists with an easy to follow lesson which we will provide for them to use. Classes will meet on the first Wednesday of every month, beginning September 2nd, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the church. The whole family is welcome to participate in place of family catechesis, though the lessons will be geared toward sacramental preparation. First Reconciliation will take place in December and First Holy Communion in May. Participation in the class is required in order to receive sacraments.
Confirmation
Preparations for Confirmation are offered to students entering 7th grade through the fall of 8th grade. Confirmation for those starting class this year will take place in the fall of 2021. Classes meet every Sunday from 4:00-5:30 pm beginning September 13th. Participation in the class is required to receive the sacrament. The parent meeting will be on the 13th during class. We ask all teens and parents to be present.
Returning students receiving Confirmation this fall will continue to meet every Sunday, beginning September 13th, from 7:00-8:30 pm through the sacrament on October 17th. The parent meeting will be held on September 20th at 6:30pm. We ask all teens and parents to be present.
