Confirmation marks the final stage of full initiation into the Catholic Christian community. As fully initiated members of this priestly people, these young men and women must be ready to offer their gifts and talents along with those of their brothers and sisters for the continued building up of the Body of Christ.
The Sacrament of Confirmation for youth is typically received in the 8th grade after participating in a Confirmation Preparation program in the 7th grade in the Diocese of Cheyenne. Here at Holy Trinity, the Confirmation program runs Sunday afternoons from 4pm-5:30pm. In order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, students should be registered and participating in the Confirmation program and are also encouraged to register and participate in our new Junior High Youth Ministry program. In addition, students seeking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, must attend the Confirmation Retreat and complete 24 hours of service in the church and community.
The Adult Confirmation program makes it possible for adults to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation marks the final stage of full initiation into the Christian community. In the Sacrament of Confirmation the confirmand receives a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit through which he or she is given the strength to live a life in immitation of Jesus Himself. As fully initiated members of the Church, the Confirmed Catholic must be ready to offer their gifts and talents along with those of their brothers and sisters for the continued building up of the Body of Christ.
Adult Confirmation Classes are held as a Tri-parish event, with St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Cathedral of St. Mary. Confirmation for Adults is celebrated on Pentecost.
