"Let the Children come to me, do not prevent them." Mark 10:14
Jesus calls the little children to Him because they are precious to Him. Their natural faith and trust in God should always be encouraged and nurtured through our continued work to help them encounter God, and His presence in the Scripture, Liturgy and the Sacraments.
Currently, our Children's Faith Formation is primarily through our Summer Religious Education program for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. With the help of many volunteers who care about children and their love for Jesus, Holy Trinity holds our grade school religious education classes during an intensive two-week program in the summer.
If you enjoy teaching, or just 'helping out with kids, please consider joining us in handing on the Faith to our children. We are always in need of catechists and aides for both sessions! (If you happen to have children in our program, all fees are waived when a parent assists for the entire session.)
We offer 2 different two-week sessions (one in June, one in August) for parents and students to choose from.
Classes run from 9 am until Noon each day.
This format not only fits the busy lives of families but also allows us to do some fun projects, crafts, and activities we would not be able to do in a normal "Sunday school" format. We have found that this program works very well and children love coming each day.
Completion of Safe Environment Training is required to help with this ministry. Contact Ashley Engel for more information.
"I am anxious to give thanks in the Church's name to all of you, lay teachers of catechesis in the parishes, the men and the still more numerous women throughout the world who are devoting yourselves to the religious education of many generations. Your work is often lowly and hidden but it is carried out with ardent and generous zeal.". - Pope Saint John Paul II, "On Catechesis in our Time"
